Aug. 3--NEWPORT NEWS, Va.--Carnival Cruise Lines will launch four cruises from Newport News next year.
The brand-new, 2,758-passenger Carnival Victory will depart Newport News Marine Terminal on May 13 and Oct. 7, 2001, for five-night cruises to the Bahamas.
The Victory is also scheduled to set sail Oct. 12, 2001, and Oct. 26, 2001, for overnight "cruises-to-nowhere," the cruise line said.
The world's newest cruise ship, the Victory is already scheduled to call Newport News for cruises Sept. 29 and Sept. 30 of this year, Carnival spokeswoman Jennifer de la Cruz said. Next year's voyages will make 2001 the third consecutive year the cruise line ...
