A Washington downtown building which he originally dedicated in 1968 while he served as the first Black Housing and Urban Development Department (HUD) Secretary was re-dedicated in honor of Dr. Robert C. Weaver.

Hundreds of guests and HUD employees watched the ceremonies conducted by the current HUD Secretary Andrew Cuomo to produce the first government building named for the first Black Cabinet member.
