Aug. 8--Two long-time employees are under investigation by Centerville police after allegations of improper conduct at the city's water department.
Utilities Superintendent Henry Childs and his assistant, Ben Knight, were placed on leave with pay Friday while the investigation proceeds.
They have until Aug. 21 to respond to the allegations against them or request an extension, City Attorney Henry Smith said.
Smith, Centerville Mayor Mary Ann Weigand and the chief of police wouldn't go into the details of the accusations Monday. Smith did say the two men could face criminal charges but would only characterize the allegations as "improper ...
