Aug. 11--Houston's used home sales were down slightly in July as the summer doldrums appeared to take some of the momentum out of the Houston housing market.
Houston Association of Realtors reported 5,183 properties were sold in July, down 7.4 percent from July of last year. The number of houses sold last month also failed to match sales total of July 1998, when 5,218 houses were sold.
More weakness is reflected in the inventory of homes for sale. The realty association said more than 26,300 homes were listed for sale in July, up 11 percent from a year earlier.
It would be inaccurate to call July a complete disaster, however. For most of the ...
