JUDGE BORK'S MISTAKE
When Judge Robert Bork's enemies targeted his nomination to the Supreme Court, they were hoping to stifle not just one man, but a whole way of thinking about the Constitution. In stepping off the federal bench, therefore, Judge Bork has offered not just his resignation, but an invitation to continue the intellectual debate over original-intent jurisprudence.
I hope that Judge Bork, in his preoccupation with his enemies on the Left, will not back off from confronting his far more profound differences with his friends on the Right. I was a staunch supported of the Bork nomination. As evidence of my good faith, let me say that I sent ...
