Article: China cracks down on 'enemy' Web sites.

BEIJING, Aug. 9 (UPI)

In the latest indication of official unease with the Internet, the Chinese Communist Party warned its members that "enemy forces at home and abroad are sparing no effort to use this battle front to infiltrate us," the official People's Daily reported.

The commentary, published Tuesday in the party flagship, reiterated the warning by President Jiang Zemin last month that the Internet has become "a key battlefield" in China's "political and ideological struggle."
