Andre Previn isn't shy about expressing his love for Tanglewood. For his annual return to the Boston Symphony Orchestra's summer home in the Berkshires last Sunday, he prepared a program note that concluded, "As musical inspiration goes, I can think of no better place anywhere."
The conductor-composer-pianist will follow that performance, an intimate jazz evening with Previn at the piano, with symphony concerts tomorrow and Aug. 26.
Previn has missed only two or three Tanglewood summers in 23 years. But he nearly missed this one because of an eye condition that has plagued him since spring.
