Next week's Democratic National Convention at Staples Center in Los Angeles will be a carefully choreographed goodbye to Bill Clinton, who has given his party two presidential victories but also turbulent times, and a welcome to the straight-arrow ticket of Vice President Al Gore and Connecticut Sen. Joe Lieberman.
