It's hard to say whether it's synergy or suicide, but TNT is premiering a made-for-TV movie about the political conventions the week of the Democratic National Convention.
Why watch the movie when the real thing is on another channel? Or should we say: Why watch the convention when the movie is on another channel?
Anyway, let's not mince words: "Running Mates" is a two-hour commercial for so-called campaign finance reform, masquerading as a TV movie. With a good plug tossed in for Vice President Al Gore.
