The most striking thing about King Hussein's funeral was who did and did not attend from the Arab world.
Let's see, Moammar Gadhafi sent his son and heir apparent, Seif el-Islam. Hafez Assad went himself, instead of sending his son and heir apparent, Bashar. Saddam Hussein could have sent his son and heir apparent, Uday, but they weren't invited. Hosni Mubarak went himself; I didn't notice if he brought his able son Gemal. King Hassan of Morocco sent his son, Crown Prince Sidi Mohammed. Crown Prince Abdullah of Saudi Arabia came himself and left his sons and brothers to tend the store back home.
