When Butch Henry signed with the Mariners this winter, he insisted on including an unusual clause in his contract. If the veteran left-hander is told he will not make the starting rotation out of spring training, he can terminate the deal and essentially become a free agent.
``I never would have signed here if they had told me there was a chance I was going to be in the bullpen,'' Henry said yesterday. ``Ultimately, my goal is to get back into a rotation and make 35 starts this year. To me, that's pretty realistic with the way I'm feeling right now.
