When the subject is Butch Henry, Oakland Athletics pitcher Gil Heredia is not the most objective observer.
Heredia is Henry's best friend in baseball. The former teammates are so close their families are planning a cruise together. When Heredia started against the Yankees on opening night, Henry scurried anxiously around the Mariners clubhouse, trying to find the game on TV. When Henry made his Mariners debut last night, Heredia watched closely from the opposite dugout.
Best bud or not, Heredia was fairly prescient about what was going to happen, based on what he saw of Henry this spring.
