Republican presidential hopeful Sen. John McCain of Arizona carries a Douglas MacArthur-like message on the conflict in Kosovo that has given him some recognition in the race.
``If you are going to be involved in a foreign conflict, you must figure out the price . . . and do what is necessary to win,'' said the 62-year-old former prisoner of war in Vietnam.
But McCain appears to be taking the opposite approach in his bid for the GOP nomination, which he cheerfully acknowledges has ``about as much chance as a snowball in Gila Bend, Arizona.''
