Boycott China!
There, I've said it, and it sounds ridiculous, just as I was afraid it would.
Well-organized boycotts are really effective tools for change. Recently a large number of Californians celebrated the anniversary of the grape boycott, which led to a major victory for farm workers.
I've seen others work in support of anti-apartheid activists and some very local political causes. When it comes to the world's most populous country, though, my (so far) one-man boycott movement really seems like spitting up a rope. But I'll continue doing it, and I invite you to join me in support of such people as Lin Hai.
