Jaleel White has grown up. Turns out he's a fine actor who doesn't have to exaggerate his appearance or change his voice to get a laugh. With a high forehead that furrows like an Illinois cornfield and big sleepy eyelids that are like mood-altering window shades, White is a young Bill Cosby, able to use his face to maximum comedic effect.
White's ability lifts an otherwise drab comedy a couple of notches above average, but ``Grown Ups,'' premiering tonight at 8:30 on UPN, isn't likely to be the show that makes people accept White as someone other than Steve Urkel, the geekchild he played on ``Family Matters'' for almost a decade.
