The LPGA Tour said goodbye to Jimin Kang yesterday, at least temporarily.
While the pros travel to Portland today, Kang was headed back to class at 8:20 a.m., a teacher's assistant in precalculus at King's High School in Shoreline.
``A few players said, `Are you going to the next tournament?' '' the teenager said beaming, excited over the obvious acceptance. ``I said, `I have to go back to school.' ''
At the Safeco Classic, Kang played like she belonged. The amateur golfer shot 2-over-par 290, finishing tied for 60th with three others.
She shot even-par 72 in her first round, had one of 18 tournament eagles in her third round and ...
