Do you recall the last time you saw a cruise ship glide past? If you did, it probably wasn't here in Seattle. It was probably docking at some other lucky port - leaving its $1 million dollars a day in revenues to those lucky economies.
The first time I was captivated by a cruise ship was when I sailed into the Port of Seattle for the 1962 World's Fair with my family. I remember thinking how exciting Seattle was, and how the port was such a great place for people to visit and work. People liked cruising so much that my family started Princess Cruises and soon the Love Boat of '70s television fame was created.
