After a congressional session that began with an ugly impeachment process and ended with a drawn-out budget negotiation, Washington state lawmakers left town with a few victories and a lot of disappointments.
The priorities of both parties - tax cuts for the Republicans, boosting the minimum wage and reforming managed health care for the Democrats - fell by the wayside in a narrowly divided Congress.
But several regional priorities - conserving salmon, building a rapid transit system in the central Puget Sound region - got modest boosts. And there's always next year.
