In an early showdown between two of the Western Hockey League's best teams, the Seattle Thunderbirds proved the prognosticators half right.
A crowd of 4,280 at KeyArena saw the T-Birds skate to a seamless 6-1 win over Prince Albert, outplaying the Raiders in every phase of the game.
The Hockey News rated the T-Birds No. 3 and the Raiders No. 4 in the Canadian Hockey League in its preseason forecast. If last night was any indication, The Hockey News has the T-Birds pegged just about right.
After falling behind 1-0 just 6:51 into the game, the T-Birds' blueliners and first-time goal scorers stole the show.
