Opponents of a proposed highway that would slice through homes, neighborhoods and countryside in Taylor Mill hope to build enough support with state legislators and Gov. Paul Patton to cancel the $42 million project.
They say they have collected 700 signatures on a petition against the project, which would widen Old Taylor Mill Road - a two-lane, tree-lined road - to five lanes to relieve traffic from busy Ky. 16.
They have posted yellow signs along Old Taylor Mill Road and Ky. 16 urging people to sign the petition and to call a hotline.
