Growing relationship between Internet and film distribution, and subsequent early demand for titles on DVD, has apparently convinced Hollywood of benefits of simultaneous worldwide film releases, at least on a limited basis. For Columbia-TriStar Film Distributors International (CTFDI), growing Internet use by younger audiences means that film marketing campaigns can be run more easily on a global level, especially for event movies. Meanwhile, near simultaneous theatrical release means Columbia-TriStar Home Video (CTHV) can launch similarly global campaigns for titles' video release a few months later, whilst still respecting local exploitation windows.
