Ryu Mi-yong, 78, chief of the North Korean delegation to Seoul for family reunions, is currently chairman of the central committee of North Korean Chondogyo, one of Korea's indigenous religions, and standing committee member of the 10th Supreme People's Assembly.
Ryu is a well-known South Korean defector. She defected to the North in 1986 along with her husband, Choe Duck-shin, who served as foreign minister under late president Park Chung-hee.
Ryu assumed the post after the death in 1989 of Choe, who served as chief of the central committee of Chondogyo.
