BAY CITY, Mich. _ Over the past 20 years, I have driven by this town hundreds of times and never stopped.
It was just another exit off I-75.
Why stop? Bay City certainly has a pleasant name, but as far as I was concerned, it offered little more than a collection of battered old buildings on the banks of an industrial river.
No more.
Today, Bay City is a gem. It has taken almost 30 years to come back from the loss of major pieces of its industrial base, but it's definitely back.
Sure, this town of 38,000 people is still a little rough around the edges, but it also possesses a wonderful history, fine ...
