While the great majority of mortgage brokers are hooked up to the Internet, only about half of them use laptops in their business. Approximately eight in 10 of them use cell phones in their day-to-day business, but only about 40% said they have a beeper.

These were the main findings of the technology-based questions of Mortgagestats.com's 1999 mid- year mortgage broker survey. There were 148 brokers who sent in responses to the survey,
