NEW EVIDENCE NICOTINE GUM HELPS STOP SMOKING

Nicotine chewing gum has been available by prescription in the United States in 2-mg doses since 1984. A new study from Denmark suggests that a 4-mg. dose may be up to five times more effective than the lower dose in helping smokers quit. The study also discovered that nicotine chewing gum, combined with group counseling, helped up to three times as many people stop smoking as did group counseling alone.
