Las Palmas Deli is likable enough but not quite up to the task of capturing the imaginations of those discriminating diners next door in Maple Bluff.
The Mexican deli is a bit out of place on the outskirts of the mostly residential Sherman Avenue neighborhod across from Burrows Park, yet it had a built-in clientele that was eagerly awaiting its opening in February in a remodeled single-family house near the corner where Sherman Avenue meets North Sherman Avenue.
As someone who lives on Sherman Avenue less than a mile from Las Palmas, I would have to count myself in that captive audience. There is only so much New Orleans Take Out a person can eat (OK, so ...
