JAKARTA, Aug 24 Asia Pulse - Indonesia's first compound fertilizer plant is to be dedicated today by President Wahid.
The plant, with a production capacity of 300,000 tons and built by PT Petrokimia Gresik at a cost of US$26 million, will be completed ahead of schedule in October this year, Petrokimia Gresik president Rauf Purnama said here Wednesday.
With the production of the compound fertilizer bearing the brand "Phonska", Rauf said, the state will be able to save some of its foreign exchange. He said before the new factory was built, Indonesia had to import compound fertilizer.
