Key Technology has introduced its new Tegra(R)PAC (Premier Application Configuration) for Coffee, an optical inspection system that increases sorting throughput while improving the accuracy of defect removal and recovery efficiency. The company designed the system to run up to six metric tons of product an hour and to produce a more consistent final product quality in one sorting pass, improving productivity, yields, and profit margins for processors of green coffee beans.
The system's belt launches product for in-air inspection by the machine's color cameras, which are arranged in a tilted-x configuration to allow inspection of all surfaces on each coffee bean. ...
