The Washington Department of Agriculture made an initial response within 24 hours to all eight cases of human exposure to pesticides reviewed by the Environmental Protection Agency. A story on Page One Feb. 4 quoted a draft of the EPA report that contained inaccurate information about the department's response. Although cited in the story, an accompanying box did not include the EPA's recommendation that the Agriculture Department should retain authority to enforce laws governing pesticides and herbicides in the state.
