It doesn't rhyme or sound very snazzy, but Seattle Mariners officials said yesterday that calling their new ballpark Safeco Field feels right.
The Seattle-based Safeco insurance company will pay the Mariners $1.8 million a year for 20 years, adjusted annually for inflation, to hang its corporate name on the $417 million baseball stadium.
``There's no question it's a good fit,'' Mariners President Chuck Armstrong said. ``Safeco has a very positive image.''
