The Mariners will debut in their new home July 15 when they play the San Diego Padres at Safeco Field.
The three-game series opener at the 46,500-seat, $500 million retractable-roof stadium will begin an eight-game homestand, according to the 1999 home schedule released yesterday by the Mariners. The Arizona Diamondbacks will follow for three games, then the Oakland Athletics for two games.
A farewell celebration at the Kingdome is planned for June 27, the last day the M's will play there.
