The residential real estate market continued to be hot in King and Snohomish counties in April, with double-digit increases in sales and prices from a year ago.

The Northwest Multiple Listings Service said the volume of home and condominium sales closed in April jumped 10 percent from a year ago, to 2,570. The median price (meaning half of the sales were more expensive, half were less) was $191,875, up 12 percent from April 1997. Properties that sold were on the market an average of 41 days, compared with 51 a year ago.
