Residents of Rich Passage, who suspect state ferries are wrecking their beaches, will square off tomorrow night against ferry riders.

Passage residents are expected to reiterate their most recent claims that ferries, particularly the new passenger ferry Chinook, are kicking up waves that wash away beaches and damage protective bulkheads.

For their part, state ferry officials will admit some ferries recently exceeded established speed limits and kicked up more waves than they should. However, they're expected to maintain that the waves weren't ruining shore property.
