That book you have not returned to the King County library could run you afoul of a collection agency.
Beginning Oct. 1, the King County Library System began turning scofflaws over to a collection agency to get overdue books, videos and other materials back and collect fines.
``Our main goal is to get the items back,'' said Jeanne Thorsen, spokeswoman for the library.
Only 1 to 5 percent of borrowers don't bring items back, Thorsen said.
The collection agency doesn't come into play unless the overdue items are worth $50 or more or if fines total $50 or more.
