Another national forest in Washington is considering limiting the number of overnight hikers in its designated wilderness areas in an effort to reduce environmental damage at popular campsites.
The Gifford Pinchot National Forest in southern Washington has scheduled two public meetings next week to take comments on an environmental assessment it released recently on seven wilderness areas. They are the Goat Rocks, Mount Adams, Glacier View, William O. Douglas, Indian Heaven, Tatoosh and Trapper Creek wildernesses.
