About 7,000 tickets remain for the inaugural game at Safeco Field, and the Mariners said yesterday they will offer these seats for purchase through a mail-in lottery.
Winners will be given the opportunity to buy four seats, which means as few as 1,750 names might be drawn for the July 15 game. Most seats available will be the cheapest ones - from $5 to $13 - located in the outfield or in the third deck of Safeco Field.
Season-ticket holders, business partners, sponsors and dignitaries already top the guest list for the Safeco Field opener, filling up the rest of the 47,000-seat ballpark.
