Asian air pollution reaches the Pacific Northwest in significant amounts, University of Washington scientists reported yesterday, which may have caused an increase in acid rain and stream pollution noticed over the past six years.
Yesterday, at the American Geophysical Union meeting in San Francisco, two teams of UW scientists joined others who have found evidence that air pollution from Asia can travel across the Pacific Ocean and reach the Western United States in amounts great enough to perhaps cause environmental damage.
