Keiko may prove that even killer whales can go home again.
America's most famous orca, a poor darling of a whale when he arrived here 13 months ago, has gained back 1,000 pounds. His teeth are getting stronger, and those unsightly skin lesions, once the size of dish platters, have shrunk to the size of half-dollars.
