A Taiwanese businessman handed a $50,000 campaign donation to Hillary Rodham Clinton's chief of staff in 1995 while on a trip to the White House with six Chinese officials, administration aides said yesterday.
The donation by Johnny Chung through Margaret Williams to the Democratic National Committee is the first known instance in which a campaign check was handed to an administration official at the White House during the past four years.
It was the latest in what has become an almost daily series of revelations pertaining to the burgeoning scandal over Democratic fund-raising.
