A white woman who was turned down for admission to the University of Washington Law School in 1994 has filed a reverse discrimination lawsuit against the school.
Katuria E. Smith, 31, filed suit against the school and nine of its administrators in U.S. District Court in Seattle on Wednesday. The suit claims the UW Law School demonstrated racial discrimination and denied Smith's constitutional rights to equal protection under the law when it failed to admit her.
The UW would not comment on the case last night because school officials had not had the chance to review the suit, said Norm Arkans, executive director of university relations.
