Branford Marsalis' hotel suite looks like that of any Jamaican tourist. A golf bag is propped against the wall, and a basket brimming over with tropical fruit is on the table.
Dressed in a stripped jersey and white pants and peeling a papaya, the saxophonist is ready for some fun in this island paradise. First his trio will play the Jamaica Jazz Festival, and then he'll hit the links.
Though one is work and the other play, Marsalis finds similarities between the game of golf and the art of jazz. He speaks passionately about both.
