The athletes' police blotter was busy in June with the saga of Boston Red Sox outfielder Will Cordero. In a classic case of domestic violence, Cordero was arrested after a ``domestic incident'' left Ana Cordero with a bloodied nose. As police led him away, Cordero reportedly bent down to kiss his 9-month-old daughter and then told his wife he was going to kill her. Arraigned on charges of domestic battery and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, he entered an innocent plea.
The Red Sox reacted tentatively until subsequent evidence surfaced that Cordero had abused women in two previous relationships. Then they pulled him from the lineup just before the ...
