KING COUNTY SHERIFF
Qualifications: Candidates must be U.S. citizens and registered voters in King County.
Term: Four years.
Salary: $109,232.
Duties: The King County sheriff enforces state laws and county ordinances and provides emergency service during disasters.
The sheriff, who is also known as the public safety director, provides routine patrol for about 575,000 residents who live in unincorporated King County and in cities that contract for county police services.
