What can you say about a woman who sends a fruitcake to FDR, a separate one to Eleanor Roosevelt, and another to Jean Harlow in care of Hollywood, U.S.A.?
``Nutty as a . . .'' comes to mind. But if Cousin Sook is going nuts, we should all book passage 'cause it sure looks like a nice place.
Sook isn't really crazy, of course. She's just ``slow,'' at least in the view of people who measure intellect in the conventional manner - people like Sook's sister, Jennie, an industrious, God-fearing milliner who hasn't much time to fly kites, pick flowers or lick batter off a spoon.
Childlike Sook is older than Jennie, but Jennie is the one who ran the ...
