A King County Superior Court judge yesterday refused to dismiss murder charges against Martin Pang, charged with setting the 1995 fire that killed four Seattle firefighters.
Superior Court Judge Larry Jordan denied a motion by Pang's attorney, John Henry Browne, to dismiss the murder charges with prejudice, which would have permanently settled the question. He ordered the charges severed, or set aside, so trial may proceed on arson charges.
Pang fled to Brazil following the Jan. 5, 1995, fire at his parents' International District warehouse.
The Brazilian Supreme Court allowed his extradition to the United States on condition he be tried only ...
