A Tacoma company that rebuilds car engines has been sold by the auto-dealership-owning families that owned it.
Tam Engineering Inc., which has 230 employees and chalked up $27 million in sales in 1995, has been sold by the Titus and Will families, which own Ford and Toyota dealerships along Interstate 5 in Tacoma.
The buyer is privately held Autocraft Industries Inc. of Oklahoma City. Terms weren't disclosed.
Autocraft also acquired Auto Parts Warehouse, a Seattle-based distributor owned by Tam, said Mike Brustkern, chief executive of Exvere Inc., a mergers and acquisition firm in Seattle.
