Mariners fever is alive in the desert.
In fact, there is so much interest in the defending American League West champions because of their memorable late-season and playoff accomplishments last fall, Cactus League officials predict the M's will challenge for second place in spring attendance and perhaps surpass 100,000 at exhibition home games for the first time in franchise history.
The Chicago Cubs will maintain their position as the Cactus League's most popular team, but the Mariners are gaining in stature.
