As religious leaders from many of Seattle's churches and synagogues, we are writing to urge all Seattle voters to turn out for the special election March 26 and to vote yes for the maintenance and operations levy for Seattle's schools.
Our support for the levy grows out of a longstanding commitment by the religious community in America to public education. A strong system of public education is vital for our children's personal growth, the health of our communities and the strength of our democracy.
Our schools need the levy in order to continue operation at their current level. The levy does not impose new property taxes, but simply replaces the ...
