The Mariners' double-play production has climbed from dead last in the major leagues in 1995 to fourth in the American League, from the object of rips to respectability.
But Joey Cora, the second baseman and a key part of the double play combination both seasons, doesn't want to be No. 1.
Cora, who wastes few words, said bluntly:
``I don't think we want to be on top, to be honest with you. If you have the most double plays that means you have a lot of men on base and that's not good.''
