Last month, one of our former Seattle Community Colleges chancellors introduced himself to a group with the greeting: ``I'm George Corcoran and I'm a student here at the Seattle Community Colleges.''
This self-introduction illustrates one of the most striking changes to community college education as we approach the end of the century. Corcoran, who created a successful business career after leading our three colleges in the 1970s, uniquely illustrates the concept of the lifelong learner.
